Halloween is very popular even for people who live in a country where it is never celebrated. Halloween is originally very ancient religious and ritual celebration. The time goes by from hundred years ago when it was celebrated, but the fun is still seen on the October 31st. People come with different ideas of costume from time to time but still keep the nature of this celebration. You will always see, children asking for candies and wearing scary or strange costumes.

The Jack O Lantern, the carved pumpkin, is the most identical item for Halloween day. In Halloween the people make a Jack O Lantern by cutting off the top of pumpkin and scooping out the flash. Then it was carved to make a face of monster, and place a light inside the pumpkin. People believe that the legend of Jack O lantern goes like this; jack was an evil and lazy man who trapped evil up in a tree by using a cross, so that the evil couldn’t get down. As the result, as he passed away he couldn’t enter heaven because he was too sinful. The hell couldn’t accept him either. Then he confused where to go, and then he was pushed to wander the earth with a burning coal. That is how people called him Jack of Lantern or Jack O lantern.

Now for the big day of Halloween, if you are adults, you must need adult costumes to have fun such as caveman, or various monsters from popular movie. Not only spooky costumes, you can find girls wearing costumes of princess, nurse and others. Boys costumes are usually kids Halloween costumes or cartoon characters. The families also celebrate the day by setting Halloween Party decorations to add more excitement. Today Halloween costumes are more likely personality expression from the individuals who wear them. While wearing those costumes they go to houses for Trick or Treating. This practice originally came from the middle age poor people in area which now Britain and Ireland. Long time ago the poor people wore costumes and come to houses knocking for food at November 1st. It is now become what we called as Halloween. There has been a great support of artificial horror movies that brings profit not only in Halloween day, through out the year there is always popular horror movies. As popular as Shakespeare’s stories, spooky things always be one of the center of excitement for the holiday. Don’t forget these traditions and always celebrate the most of the Halloween holiday.
